Не думаю, что роль ораторского искусства заключается в сохранении традиций. Было время Цицерона, Демосфена, было время Плевока, было время Ленина и даже Гитлера. И ораторское искусство служило им. Теперь другое время.

Для американцев такие понятие как ораторское искусство ( oratory, rhetoric, speaker) стали давно синонимом бизнесмена-презентатора. Та что там, ораторское искусство рассматривается как способ донести презентацию до клиентов либо партнеров. И такой оратор Барак Обама.
